I had an inkling of how difficult this painting would be, but those inklings don’t signal anything to me and so I blaze ahead, not heeding my own warnings! Oh yes, this one was really difficult. That vase was a major problem. It was a gift from my friend Carole Flagg, and it was her mother’s. I painted this on Saturdays with Carole and she laughed at me when I fussed and fumed over her mother’s vase.
